Quote of the Day

"The greatest pleasure in life is doing what people say you cannot do."

--Walter Bagehot

Today's Assignment

If you did not finish yesterday, you will need to continue drafting your proposal.  Remember, you need to create a document and name it Proposal.  The proposal should be a minimum of two pages, typed, double-spaced, 12-14 font.

The organization of the proposal is as follows:

1st paragraph:  Define the problem and describe a solution.

2nd paragraph:  Facts (from a minimum of three sources) to bolster the argument for approval.  There should be commentary between each of your facts. At the end of the sentence containing the fact (whether directly quoted or paraphrased) you will need to have a parenthetical citation giving the source that the fact came from credit.

3rd paragraph:  End by discussing possible outcomes/benefits the reader will realize from your solution to the problem and urge the reader to action.  Remember, it is important for the reader to understand how he/she would benefit from your proposal.

Lastly, on a separate page of the same document, you will need to create a Works Cited or Bibliography page.  List the sources that you used in alphabetical order.  The sources should be cited correctly (MLA format) using easybib or another citation machine.

***The proposal will count as a test grade and will be due by the end of the class period today!!  EACH DAY THAT IT IS LATE YOU WILL LOSE 10 POINTS.

Use the submission form to turn in the Proposal.  Make sure that you include a Works Cited/Bibliography page listing the sources used in alphabetical order.
